Recycled Halloween Trick or Treat Bags – DIY!

DIY Treat BagsHalloween is coming in just a few weeks! It’s always my favorite time of year. I remember being little and I couldn’t wait until it was time to pick my costume, decorate the house and carve pumpkins! The time just dragged on and on. Back in the day we used old pillowcases to collect our candy but I always wanted one of those fancy decorated bags.

Unfortunately by the time you purchase a costume, pumpkins, decor and candy for the trick or treaters, Halloween can get a little pricey. Here’s a way for your kids to have a custom treat bag, for you to save a couple of dollars, and keep your kiddos busy while recycling!

All you’ll need are paper bags, paints and brushes.

Treat Bag SuppliesGet creative and come up with your own design! You can go spooky, fun or you can even match it to your toddlers costume!

I started by painting my bag black so I had a clean slate. Then I added, “Trick or Treat,” using orange paint.

Decorating BagsTo make it super cute we reused our ghost sponges we made in yesterday’s video.

Here are our bags! My brother, Danny, decided to go a little spooky with an evil looking pumpkin 🙂

  1. I never thought to reuse those Whole Foods bags! I have so many in the garage so I think I’ll make some bags for my nieces!
