DIY Ice Cream in a bag!

Summer is here and it has been in the 100’s for a couple of weeks now here in Vegas. We are always on the lookout for fun ways to cool down so we decided to try making our ice cream in a bag!

You only need a few basic ingredients.

Icecream in a Bag IngredientsIngredients:

1 cup heavy whipping cream or half and half (the heavy whipping cream takes a little longer to harden but is heavier and creamier than the half and half)

1 TBSP Vanilla (you can substitute the vanilla for any flavor you would like with cocoa powder or even fresh fruit)

1/2 cup rock salt or coarse sea salt (rock salt works a little bit faster)

1 TBSP Raw Honey or your favorite sweetener

1 gallon size ziplock bag

1 sandwich size ziplock bag

5 or so cups of ice

Directions:

Start by adding your cream to your sandwich size bag, add the vanilla and your choice of sweetener.

Cream in the BagSeal the bag tightly. Add your ice and salt to your gallon size bag.

Adding salt to the icePlace your bag filled with the cream into your ice and salt bag. Seal the top removing any air.

Cream inside of salted ice bagThen……shake!

DIY Ice Cream in a BagGive it a good shake for about 5 minutes and your cream with start to harden. The longer you shake it the firmer the cream gets. Remove it from the bag and enjoy!

We couldn’t wait so we had ours when it was a soft-serve like texture. It was delish! We will absolutely be making this again since it was not only fun to make but some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had! 🙂

If you could make any flavor of ice cream what would it be? Let us know in the comments below!
