Wow, it’s 2017 already! I feel like I say this all the time but time just flies. 2016 was such a great year and Heidi and I have been making great improvements to the blog and are continuing to do so. We want to get a little further with our improvements and then I plan to do a post detailing the new layout and our plans for the future! Exciting things are coming soon!! Trust me!
Anyways, let me get to my trending bytes! Christmas just passed and all of my trending things are gifts I received. At the risk of sounding braggy, I just feel super loved and like my family knows me really, really well and blew me away this year.
Custom Kitchen Island –
My dad is an amazing craftsmen and he went way over the top this year and made me a custom island for my kitchen. It is gorgeous! My kitchen is pretty large and we would always set up a folding table for parties and special occasions for serving and extra space but now we’ve just been using the new island! It has drawers and storage space and one of those things that just feels like it was always there. It fits just right. I’ve been pinning some different décor for islands and I am still deciding on how to organize the drawers, I will have to share a blog or video on it!
I recently launched a sister youtube channel to Beanster’s Bytes with my sister, Anna, called StickeBeans! We feature planner accessories like stickers and pens with plan with me’s and other fun stuff. Well, my desk in my office is black, reflective and not lit very well so my sister got me the beautiful Alex desk from IKEA for my videos. Not only will I be using it for StickeBeans but I will be using it for this channel as well! I can also use it for photos! I love it and had no idea she was getting it for me. Since I already had a desk in my office, we put it on the landing above our stairs and it’s worked out so well. I haven’t organized these drawers either so I see some IKEA organizer trips in my future.
Nixplay Photo Frame –
This was by far one of the coolest gifts I’ve ever gotten that I didn’t even know what I wanted. I’ve seen electronic photo frames before but I’ve never seen one as cool as the one my mother in law gave me. Not only are the photos sharp, perfectly colored and crisp but it has all kinds of fun features like automatic shut off, a motion sensor so it doesn’t play when no one is around and I can control everything from an app on my phone! I set it up in my office and I have it set to only turn on between 8-5 Monday through Friday which is when I am normally in the office. The app is really easy to use and I can add or delete any photos really quickly. You can change how it switches the photos with cool transitions too! I have to admit it distracted me the first few days at work since I set it up so I can see it, but I got used to it and now it’s so nice and keeps me in such a great mood to see Lily, Eric and all of my other favorite people flash by.
That’s all for my January Trending Bytes! I hope you enjoyed reading this, what’s trending in your life? Let me know in the comments section!
Until next time,
